Misleading Recover Data for Mac, sound like one could use the programm on a Mac to recover Data. However, I found out that the installation file was and .exe file and thus not usable on mac. This was a surprise to me.

It does work just fine to a point. I have not been able to recover any of my sd2 [sound designer] files.

I have downloaded the macintosh recovery software, everthink looks fine for recovering the volume, but for some strange reasons the applications suddenly quit? i have tested on a:Powerbook G4 under 10.4 en 10.5 same problemMacPro under 10.4 and 10.5Macbook Pro under 10.5I would like to recover a laCie big disk 4Gb totaly 1.8Tb.Because the program is not stable for some reasons i have tryed dataresque and that works fine.It's is a pitty that this program is not working as it shoot bee.ter info,Johan

Great software! I used this software after an external drive that I was using for Time Machine backup had failed. I tried everything to get the drive working again, but nothing worked. I downloaded this software and it ran for about 4 or 5 hours. Soon enough the drive appeared and mounted correctly. Now Im using the drive for back up again

I am wondering before I buy this software, the trial let me download one file, it was a text file and it opened but was not readable. Is this a problem with all of the files that will be recovered? I am hoping it is just a glitch in the demo version, but I need to know before I spend $90.00!

money issue The program is great, except paying 30 dollars to recover five pictures was not something I appreciated.

It's a decent program. I am glad that it works for my Power Macintosh, and not just for the Intel Mac. Thanks for a "stellar" demo of a product.

Written by PC users for PC users As an OS X application, this is utter rubbish.Besides the interface looking like a cheap'n'nasty PC app port, the application required me to enable the root user - something I haven't needed to do since Mac OS X 10.0.Furthermore, if I wanted to recover MAC data I'd look in System Profiler or use ifconfig.

RAID compatibility I downloaded this program to see if I could access a RAID that was connected via Fibre Channel. The software did not work in my case as I could not see the RAID.

I used ACDSee for years with my PC. It not only lent itself to simple photo editing...cropping, color correction, rotation, batch renaming, etc., but to managing my particular photo filing system. (I am a surgeon and file photos under specific categories with a system which has stood the test of time for me and others.) I recently changed from a PC to a MAC and could no longer use my filing system. This Mac version lacks the facility to add text to photos which has been available in ACDSee photo editing for PCs for years. The absence of this feature substantially reduces my interest in having the program on Mac. I use PCs and Macs. ACDSee for Mac has not, for my use, done anything to substantially improve on iPhoto. Browsing my several thousand photos on Mac with ACDSee is not at all as efficient as is ACDSee on PC. Having used ACDSEE 6,8, 10 & 12 on a PC I am extremely happy to have an opportunity to use it on a Mac. As a \'Browser\' it is preferable to others that recreate your images. I have only had a quick look at the Mac version but it gives me that \'going home\' feeling.It would appear to be missing some of the \'repair tool\' and add text functions however. What happens when the trial period ends do we just download another trial version because we do not seem to be able to purchase it yet ???

I was hoping that there was a newer version of ACDSee for the Mac.All I could find was this old version 1.6.
